About Me

G'day! I'm Jimmy Kakanis. I'm a high school teacher, wellbeing coordinator, and creator. This website is a space for me to explore and share what I discover about education, learning, psychology, mindfulness, and neuroscience, from the perspective of an inquisitive, creative, and compassionate Teacher.

My journey here has been a varied one. I started out with a love for writing, which led me down an unexpected path into starting my own business making skateboards and running workshops. Through that experience, I discovered a deep passion for teaching—for showing people how to do something interesting and watching them learn and grow. That led me to study Education, and now I get to bring that passion into the classroom every day.

On top of teaching, I run a YouTube channel called "The Teacher Becomes The Student," where I embrace and model a mindset of continuous learning. Writing scripts for these videos has rekindled my love for writing and sharing ideas, which is what this website is all about.

My latest passion is all about learning to code. I've created this website, and am learning to create apps that will help the education industry
